there is somebody on other car forums who posts for sale items starting the misses has spoken.please be warned he is not repling to emails about delivery of parts. payment has been made by paypal and has now been notified about this . just a heads up about this ,goes by the name of landyloon ,will let you know of any developments.

Sorry to hear you having problems with a "landyloon" can you just confirm though its not me.
Can you just give a rough guide with out to much detail as to where this person is based in UK as have found the name "landyloon" connected with other sights and clubs
as you can see I'm up in gateshead so if you can just let people know where this other person is so its not spoiling my otherwise upstanding reputation

No worries lads. I dont expect your the only ones thats why I have contacted the mods about this thread.
However if you just do a web search on the name Landyloon you should get results linked to other clubs under that exact name.
I wont post details on here of clubs etc as could leave MC open to claims of slander/liable etc but the infos there if you search for it  :wink:

his name changes now and again ,this is the last one he was using.
hes been on various ford and vauxhall sites with the same adverts .

No worries Blue thanks for the responce - to the other people who have mentioned they know a "landyloon" it may well be worth tipping him the wink as well as if someones using the same name as him it could not only cause problems for him with forums etc but also with police

Blue if I where you though as has been said I would get in touch with police as well as it seems this  landyloon you are having problems with maybe all too kean on ripping others off so its time they where stopped

just spoken to northants police. They are aware of this chap and his dealings. The address he has given does not exist as we thought. The police have asked for as many people to contact them so they can build a bigger case, the officer I have spoke to is Ann Wallis. Her email address is ann.wallis@northants.police.uk. It would be nice if any member that has paid this Martin Dines to sreen shot the details of your Paypal Payment to him. Also please include as much infomation as you can in the email, aswell as your name and phone number. You can also contact her via northants police station if you like, which I believe tel has posted the details above.

Contact with one of the mods from the land rover site, One of their regular contributors has the username Landyloon, He is a trusted person who has nothing to do with this guy who has promised parts and failed so far to deliver.
The real Landyloon is understandably upset about his username being used by someone who has not acted honestly.

This is just a statement to say that the Landyloon who posts on the Suffolk Land Rover Cub forum Is NOT the same personwho posted on here.

Muddy if ya dont like this post you are welcome to edit or delete it but its just some info for all to see so we as a club dont get ripped....

Is it possible then to contact the forum owners and then get the IP address and then Block it if they are tally and so stopping him. I'm sure his ISP would have to bend to the will of the law and jump on such a maggot.  :?:

I just wonderd that's all as being a moderator on another forum and this post about the scammer reached our board.

yes the topic has been moved because its seems to have gone off the original subject. people are now discussing what changes need to be made to stop this happening in the future in the for sale area. i only posted this on here as other car forums were being scammed by this bloke and didnt want it to start here .

hi, im new here and do sell things and am from northants.
if people paid by credit card they should have no problem as  even if the account is empty they will get the money from PP, otherwise follow the FSA complaints procedure and unless PP pay up quick it will cost them an extra £360.

with paypal there are ways to protect yourself as a buyer ( in most cases it is more risky for the seller as up to 6 months after a transaction you can get a chargeback unless you follow all their procedures exactly )
check that the other person is verified by theit credit card and has a confirmed address, this is not hard to do even when you are not in a transaction with them ), fund your payment by a credit card rather than a balance, if PP wont give you your money back then go to the CC company who should take it off PP for you, if this does not work follow the FSA complaints procedure ( this costs you nothing but will cost PP £360 win lose or draw just to reply to it so they normally just pay up ).
when dealing with PP word any complaints very simply, they are mostly americans and have to have it explained to them in woprds of 1 sylable that theft is against the law here and that thier licence to operate in this country has a condition that they do not process unlawfull transactions like those involving theft and fraud etc so do they really want you to complain to the government body that regulates them?.
