Why do you want to change a Series into something that it's not? It's a lot of hastle. You'r better off getting an old Defender or a v8 Range Rover?Matt
Isn't that a lot of work and the waste of a series?
Thanks for the support.Your yellow machine lookis nice too i noticed on an earlier question you'd done a lot of re wiring, got a weekend free?!Nothing beats the sound of the V8 rumble and if we'd never experimented we would still all be wearing fur, hunting with spears and looking like an extra on a Volvic advertRegards
The easiest way I can think to do it would be to fit a 90 front end (cunningly disguised as a Stage 1 by using a metal grill - no boingy rubbish plastic see?), get totally shot of the 2.25 mounts and the gearbox mounts, fit the V8 right up front a-la a stage 1 (or Mark's yellow SWB) and use a range rover auto box & transfer box. You'll have permenant 4wd (although there is a mod to convert the manual LT230 transfer box to selectable 4wd) If you go that route your props will be the same as Mark's - so copy him! Many moons ago Ashcrofts produced a kit to fit the Borg Warner 66 auto box from Jags to the series transfer box, that keeps the series front end but finding one may be a hassle.
If not a V8 sensibly priced alternatives?
