on the subject of petitions, i just recieved this by email (well, a link to the petition to view the reply) -

The Government has no plans to introduce legislation to force all ramblers/walkers to wave a red flag when walking on a public road.

The Highway Code gives guidance for walkers/ramblers when walking on the road, including the use of high visibility clothing. However, the Government believes that the use of high visibility clothing should remain a matter for individual choice rather than become a legislative requirement.

HA so basically what it means is if enough people sign petition x then the "government" will reply and basically tell you to [!Expletive Deleted!] off  nice one centurion, like it... like it...

Well if it make you feel better, I was at work the other day and we were sent to an incident, it was a get their quickly but not a blue light job, so we headed up the main a road, to which we came around the corner to find a large group of ramblers all over the road, foot on the brakes hard as they took to the verges.... well my colleague freaked... he put on the blue lights and was out the car giving them a "road safety bollocking" like lightening.

I just sat there and laughed my head off. The head rambler details were taken and he was warned if anyone gets hurts he is in the S**t!

Wow... a reply... I'd be happy with that mate.... at least the system (ePetitions) is being looked at..... if not paid attention to!

HEard today on radio that the epetition against the road charging has bust the million signature mark.

Not sure how that compares to other petitions over the decades... but it's got to be impressive!

its the first one i've had like it... all the other petitions i've signed have gone un-noticed it seems? :? perhaps we were dangerously close to actually getting the ramblers to wave red flags :D

Also made the national tv news, at least on ITV

Shame they cut off the interview with the person who did it, said it was a problem
