hi all. right search loads of topics for battery info and just need a little clarification. i have a excide deep cell batt for my winch and did have a normal starting batt but because i'm an idiot i kind of made an arse of jump starting it ( yep leads the wrong way round) i think i've killed the starter battery as it doesn't hold any charge for longer than about 5 seconds. what should i go for can't as afford optima etc. what specs should i look for
thanks

Any stadard diesel engine battery will do the job, 70 to 85 Ah capacity would be plenty to crank a tdi up, just make sure the terminals are the right side on the battery otherwise you will have some fun with it

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40
