For the Disco electrician
« on: February 18, 2007, 19:11:43 »
Two things:
1. I want to wire my Disco I so the driving lights are coming on when I start the engine. (and off when I stop the engine  )

2. The worst problem: I want to put in a switch so my car will start even when the alarm is going.  The background is that occasionally the fob will not operate the doors, and then I cannot start the car. This happens always in places away from home. No it is not fob batteries, it is not the immobiliser, because when the doors open everything function OK.
The EKA code only stops the alarm and does not mobilise the car.

It should be possible to fool the immobiliser to believe the alarm says  everything is A-OK even if the alarm is going.

I anyone has any idea how to mobilise the car when the alarm is going I would appreciate a contact, and
I am not trying to steal a car. You may give the info to the Land Rover guys in my town directly (The car has spent three months there - and the  LR guys have given up.)

Appreciate any suggestion.

The first one is easy just wire a relay to your headlights from the battery and use the seconed ( the one were the warning lights come on) postion on the ignition to switch the relay. Oh you may need to put a diode inline with the normal headlight switch to stop power runing back to the switch.

The second one is more fun as you will need to fool the alarm into thinking everything is ok. Not sure if that can be done.

Get a decent auto electrician to remove the alarm.
