probs on startin 4L jeep

ok here we go    when you start it  the temp geage go's rite off the scale  (is this normal with jeeps? )  dont on my landrover  and  some times wont even start  i think the imobiser is faulty   so ive  put a jumper across the imobiliser    but still some times wont start    any ideas any bod's   ?????

At the risk of sounding like I know what I am talking about here...

I asume when you say it won't start that the engine is tunring but not firing ?

what do the plugs look like and are you getting a spark ?... my 2.5 is very fussy about the plugs being gaped correctly. It's possible you might have the wrong plugs...

just a thought

new plug leads cap rotor ect ect   just will not turn over allso hve checked inhibtor switch as well its a auto
