Problem with front door locks on 90CSW
« on: February 20, 2007, 20:40:05 »
I have a problem with the "anti-burst" front door locks on my 90CSW:
In cold weather, they don't like latching. They will eventually, but they take a lot of slamming.
Note: one winter soon after I got it, both front door locks froze solid but the back door lock was fine. Could this have caused any lasting damage to the mechanisms?

Any ideas about what needs to be done to fix them? (I have tried adjusting the strike plate.)

I have also now got a different problem with the driver's door lock:
It doesn't like to let go. Push button and pull handle... door stays shut. I think that I have found a knack to getting it to open but it is a bit inconvenient. (It was doing that before I adjusted the strike plate.)

TIA,
Simon..

PS. I now have a cargo barrier fitted so being able to use the front doors is essential. (Fortunately, I hadn't got it when the locks froze.)
Gas Main works are like ants... You never see them in the winter, but once the summer arrives they appear everywhere.

sounds like a sicky mechanism, try
clean all the guts with wd40 and then spray in loads of white grease.

I had a similar prob, turned out to be the door hinges. (doors had dropped slightly).
