Lets hear your V8! (or whatever)
« on: February 24, 2007, 10:53:12 »
Sad git that i am, i love the souund of a V8 (and do like the sound of any tuned engine to be honest!).

I've got a 200tdi - and it doesn't sound that impressive - so can you post a link to a sound or video recording of your tuned engine please.

It might be easier to upload a recording to youtube or similiar - and then post a link to that. However, im sure you will work it out!

Thanks

Ringo

And Just to kick it off - here's a video of V8Moneypit (aka the legend that is Steve) done by the legend that is Brian the Snail.

This has some awesome V8 rumbles in it - so turn that volume up!

Thanks Steve and Brian...

Ringo

PS. This file is 22meg so you may want to make yourself a cup of tea!

It sounds a lot nicer from the outside than from the drivers seat

'Legend'???? Not so sure about that Ringo   Infamous maybe?

Brian did a lot of video from that weekend and very kindly put together the few clips of my 110. Absolute gent, that man.

Having owned a 'modified' V8 SD1, the low compression one sounds rough and unbalanced

Hmmm, not sure how to do that.

Sounded nice though.

The cheek of it     You try balancing 4 SU carbs!! And mine is the 9.35:1 version.... so not so low compression.

Used to own one of the last P6's with the 10:1 motor. Had to run it at TDC just to use old 'proper' 4 star. It was designed for 5 star. Can't imagine how it would run on modern junk petrol.

Not mine, but the forerunner of V8s.  The Darracq!  It is a 25.4 Litre V8.  Lovely I think.
