Depending on how bad they are....can't tell without looking.....then they may just need regreasing and tighening up. Even if you have to buy some tools (big box spanner for wheel bearing nut or a 52mm socket if you are really flush :) ) then I doubt that it would cost you more than £50 to have a look-see yourself.

Wheel bearing replacement here:-

If they need adjusting, as Andy suggests, then look at this thread. Slight difference, as this is a series, but method of adjustment is the same, and very easy to do.

How exactly have they started to go? rumbling noise? then check for tightness, takes maybe an hour if you are new to it.  To change a little bit longer as there is a lot to strip down.

How can somebody quote £100-£150 depending on how long it takes for a simple job like wheel bearings?

Plenty of garages around Kettering that are more than capable of doing the job and wont rip you off, AJ Autoservices Pytchley, Citycall Services Burton Latimer, Derrick Briggs Telford Way Ind Estate, Andy Stokes Desborough, Coopers Garage Rothwell. I can get you telephone numbers if you want, just say James from Express recommended them to you.
