Even with all the channels on Sky, it's sometimes more entertaining to switch off the TV and watch the dog!

Bunch of jessies kicking a cows bladder round a field then crying at the end. Thats not sport, it's finiancial extortion of the brainwashed masses.

I cringe at the cost my mate pays for a ticket, pie and a pint afterwards... then comes in to work either hyper for three days or in depression.

Bonkers it is

I don't hate sport.  Football is not a sport though.  It's just a game, well a business really.  Just a bunch of overpaid (ofetn illiterate) jessies kicking a bag of wind about.  Why does the world have to stop just so we can watch this cack?

Really funny the last time we had the pub meet the football was on, non of use were watching so it was just annoying.  Later on when the weather was on they threatened snow, now that got a BIG cheer :)

I quite enjoy watching or playing (trying to anyway) a good game of footie, but I have to agree that the money has destroyed it for most people.

So what to do?

Watch the Rugby instead............at least until money ruins that aswell!

Totaly agree. Look at Beckham. Paid far too much to run around a enclosed common chasing an air bag and aiming for some string. When they get the air bag to touch string then they all go around kissing each other as obviously the chaser was so amazing to get it hit the string. (like it hasnt ever been done before)

If the money wasnt so stupidly high and there were some english players playing in england instead of 1 english person (or there abouts) in the whole of the premier division, it may make it slightly better.

Bring on the sports that do involve some skill like rallying. Now getting a car to do 90mph on gravel around a corner on the edge of a cliff takes guts, courage and SKILL.

1 easy way around this boredom of f***ball on tv is to turn off the tv and chuck it away. I havent had a tv for 6 months now. Fantastic and lovin every minute of it!

I could rant all night about this.

Well out here in the real world more people hate football than like it!

What p***es us off is the way it gets rammed down our throats whether we like it or not.

Why not have a dedicated football channel on freeview? just as long as all the football stayed there and kept out of the way.  the I could happily deleted another channel from the program list and we'd all be happy.

I'd just turn it off, or listen to the Radio.

It always amuses when a (invariably)male patient asks me if I've been "watching the match"

I often tell them I've brought an unsealed can of Dulux to observe instead

Totally agree, World Rally Championship is 'the biz', as is World Superbikes.

However, my 'top of the tree' is the Tour de France.

Another sport I do think takes skill is when motorbikes (and most of the time riders) have to bounce up obstacles like old cable drums and logs and waterfalls etc. they do it inside and up steep banks too. I cant remember the name of it but that takes some doing to do.

There's indoor & outdoor championships. I've seen the Indoor about 4 times at Sheffield Arena ,& the outdoor a few years ago at Hoghton Towers (near Blackburn)
A veritable feat of bike control & we've had a multiple (indoor & outdoor) English world champion; Dougie Lampkin
