I need a welding course..... night school and live in cambridge, but wll travel for the right course..... anyone know of anything? willing to travel upto 2 hrs from Cambridge!

Did my course in St. Helens, near Warrington.

Maybe not a lot o' help, but our place sends folk to here for it's welding courses.

It's Coventry, so it's possible in two hours, but only just!

Did mine at Sutton Coldfield College. City & Guilds for £99. Ran an evening course and a Saturday morning. May be worth checking colleges local to you that train for engineering.

This site has a college course finder under information on the left-hand  :wink:

Most decent college's run welding courses, my mate used to teach them, I did welding as part of my City and Guild and had to have it tested at 3 tonne per inch of weld, worth doing a course though, it like riding a bike, I haven't touched a plant in about 12 months but I could get straight back into it tomorrow!!  If its for DIY welding it might be worth teaching yourself, must be something on the net, if its for a job though bits of paper are what stand out to employers these days, not what you can actually do :shock:
