Welcome to the Family...
« on: March 05, 2007, 12:04:23 »
About two weeks ago we lost one of our Degus to what we think was probobly viral pnemonia. Since then Mum and Sis have been pining and acting odd.

So on Sun we brought home Kaylee and Scruff, two seven week old Degu pups who seem to have adopted Flo and we all seem to be getting along famously.

I'll get some pics tonight but there have been some side splittingly funny moment. Especially when you conside that young Kaylee is about mouse sized and the adults are [!Expletive Deleted!] than domestic rats and Kaylee thinks she is the Alpha Female.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

Degu ...

Of all the things I can think of to describe these things, 'stupid' does not eneter the list anywhere. They are very intellegent little sods. They can and will get just about anywhere, they steal and horde things, I have seen them open the cage once and I know theyve done it before.

And dont even start on the whole aspect of catching one thats decided making you angry and really hacked off is WAY more fun than going back into its cage.

Then theres the theft of every single door wedge in the flat after my ex used one to stop them chewwing the underside of the door.

The burying of my sisters car-keys in her bowl of popcorn while she treid to catch the other one.

The MASSIVE stash of lego found behind my desk when I moved.

More attention seeking than most cats/dogs

Several bowls of food launched at me

Sharpened branch launched at the ex in the middle of a row

I could go on. If the wheel is all thats driving you nuts, you're onto a good thing.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

 Thought you were on about a breed of dog   I have just had to give away my Chinchilla as we now have a 5 month old who will soon be crawling in its bodily fluids, it sprays everywhere, I could live with it before but I can't risk our lad eating one of its s*&£s, (the dog eats them all the time but thats different).  I will miss him but we don't have much time to spend with him, he has gone to a good home to live with another chinchilla

i agree with the above the only reason i brought the 4x4 (well that is what i told her!!!) was to accomodate the dogs mine are sasha (healer x aussie) and t'other is piper (schnauser x poodle) they enjoy going out as it means they get to run in the mud and mess up the wifes clean house....
