think that i'd rather do things thw correct way. I definatly prefer to know that once i've built it any parts i should need to replace in the likley event that i break something, i will be able to get off the shelf. I like the sound of leaving my fuel tank were it is, will that create any problems if i was to use a new chassis? It should'nt be too difficult to make new mounts should it as i'm keen on keeping my chassis cos its in good nik and i don't have alot of dosh to chuck at it! I dont really want start messin with my exhaust down pipe cos its a nice ss one I also like the sound of it being a fact that everything will fit, so Defender engine it is!! Oh and i also meant to say thanks very much for all the help your giving me
Does it depend which version you go for as to whether you go through gearboxes? The variable turbo version has a max torque of 375 Nm, which is pretty close to the max torque of the 200tdi gearbox i think. But the wastegate version has a max torque of 355Nm.
"Drive it like you stole it" thats definatly more me! Want to build something not too sensible but still practical, if you see what i mean? :? Never had any trouble with my fue tank being the size it is so i don't think i'm bothered about that! Sounds like it would be easier to leave it were it is anyway?Oooh don't want to restrict performance i'm not that attached to the exhaust pipe!
F.A.O Porney...
Whats the way around having to use a td5 under the rear tub you refer to earlier in the post?
And how do the td5's hold up offroad as far as electrics & water. and driveability with that fly by wire throttle? Im not a sceptic of the td5 offroad.. im just interested as ive never driven one offroad!
Porny,I'm told that should i put a TD5 disco engine into my truck that there is an alarm on the ECU that would have to be diabled before i could start it and that you would be able to do this?? :? If so what sorta price :? Cheers, Maria
I get told alot of things! Everyone knows something. So when i plumb in the engine it should start straight up ? :? Do i have to have an alarm? :? Maria
