Personally I think it was not a war about WMD, it was about FML (Fluids of Mass Lubrication).

We may mock GWB, but I get the impression he and his cronies have made a mint out of it $$$$$

I find it interesting that UK went to war based on WMD, which turned out not to exist, whereas the USA justified it on the basis of terrorism and Al-Qaida, which everybody else knew had nothing to do with it all along.

When Bush was elected he was looking for a excuse to pick up where his father left off, Blair was more than happy to tag along  at the time I wonder if he would make the same decision now

I don't actually remember there being a WAR as such.
I remember an invasion of Iraq by US and UK forces, a bit like what the Germans did to Poland in 1939, but not a War!!

Now we have a country that we are spending billions on, our people are being killed over there and the residence of the country are worst off now than want they were before. Good plan wasn't it!!

Iraq is full of oil.
Afganistan is full of metals.

America will need them both at some point in the future. Say no more.

Rumps-felt was the prime mover. He wanted to invade Iraq the day after 911. Not only does the invasion secure dino juice (well they hope it will but I have my doubts long term) it also helps secures Isreal by removing a major threat. Mosad made several attempts to kill Saadam, they assasinated a gun designer who worked for Iraq (I think in Belgium), the IDF air force bombed Iraq on several occasions to destroy key industrial complexes.

Afganistan. How the heck did we get involved in that????? Dosnt the goverment know any history?  EVERYBODY who has ever tried invading has had it's donkey kicked!!! British in the 19th century (the retreat from Kabul makes an epic story), Alexander and his Macadonians couldnt wait to get into India and finaly the Soviets who threw tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of troops at the place!!! And our Tony thinks 5-6 thousand of British troops are going to win? At the moment through no fault of the troops they cant even hold down a single province!

Who would you sooner had them....us(US/UK coallition) or terrorist supporting nutters?

You can never win a war against terrorism, but I recon you can let it know when its annoying you from time to time.
Go on....cut me in half........it says SUZUKI all the way thru the middle!!

Sending our troops in has little to do with any of the countries perceived troubles IMO.

Successive governments (especially Labour ones) have been downsizing our forces since 1945 - what better way to do it but in the bloody glory of a battlefield.

Why?

Simple really - tin pot dictators that want to stay in power have a fear of being toppled in a coup

Who are the most successful leaders of coups - army generals. So kill them off, strangle their source of leaders and stay in office.

conspiracy theory number 1

There is a delicious bit of ambiguity in that sentence :)
