buying a good one any coments or help ?

im looking to buy a 90 or a 110
 i would prefer one with all the off road kit on it
im trying to get a swap or px at the mo on ebay ,,  but can anyone point me in the right way ???

  or if you know any one that wants a swap for my car
  take a look, im not trying to get more activaty on it i just want a truck

  so only look if you are intrested

Personally i would spend my money on a standard one and do it up over time rather than buying a tricked up truck that has been abused offroad and bodged to hell.......  IMHO only but it is what i did and so far it is paying off........

Agree, having a standard one and buying and adding your own goodies is most of the fun, i have seen vehicles so abused off road it makes you cringe,  a quick crawl underneath will show any heavy off  road use.

A decent set of tyres is all you need to begin with, LR got it right when the developed the vehicle and many other additions are personal preference or vanity. Start with a sound, standard vehicle and adapt/modify it as & how you see fit, no point paying for a vehicle in poor condition which is fitted with all sorts of extras when you migh bypass a good vehicle in standard, unmolested condition.
I'm not saying that all extras are a waste of money (I always adapt my vehicles to suite my personal preference) but a decent driver will see a standard vehicle through the rough stuff a lot better & smoother than a poor driver in a 'tricked up' machine.

anything i should look for when looking at one ??

Main things are rust on the rear of the chassis particularly the back x member and backlash in the transmission.  If it is getting old check the bulkhead and footwells for rot.  Doors will most likely be starting to rot not a lot that can be done about that.  Then it is just usual checks for the engine, suspension, steering etc etc.......

Like Jim said, be careful on what you are buying, a lot have been very abused.

Buy the best chassis and bulkhead you can afford and dont worry about taking a hammer and giving them both a firm tap to check that they are soild if the owner objects he is either hiding something or your at a LR dealership!

Mileage isn't an issue on a well maintained LR so dont be put of by a well service high miler.

Modding the Landy yourself will also mean you only buy the essentials and that you dont waste money.
