The ones without the light guards we just put the top of the hesh sack above the lights then bolted a metal bar over the top with some para cord under it as well so you could roll the hesh up and tie it off with the para cord. if that makes sence.

Stripdown is what we called them in normal dpm  as they were stripped down 110's To start with, pinkie is what they were know as in desert cam as they were painted pinkish as it blends in better with the natural colour of the desert. dug out some of my old pics just need to find a scanner to put them on the pc as they are the old style pics   dig cameres were not out when i was in the army

These came out of service and all but 5 were crushed.

This one was due to be crushed but it was saved before the deed was done. I was in the right place at the right time .

2 were already out, one came out by accident as it was so badly damaged it was unrecognisable, and the other by the use of contacts within the system.

So that is the seven.......

I could tell you where they all are now but I would have to kill you

You expecting trouble then???

I think you have done an absolutely fantastic job – well done.  It is good to know there are people like yourself that will go to such expense in both effort and money to do a project like this. =D>

One of the guys at a club I go to has just bought an ex RUC armoured land rover.  It is in a bit of a state at the moment but he having it restored to its original spec.  He seems to be only having problems getting an aircon system as all the windows are armoured glass and don’t open.

Although another gent from our club has got a slightly bigger toy – a Centurion MBT with a 105 gun!!   It has a fuel usage of 4 gallons per mile cross country and 2 gallons per mile on the road :(bigshock): .  Mind you – he does not take it out much.  I have tried to talk him into fitting mine ploughs as the tank looks awesome with them fitted (sort of like an extreme bull-bar for a tank!! :(vamp): )

Well done buddy – I hope the pleasure you get from your kit is extreme as the use it was designed for.

Regards

Mick

Hereford is a great place - especially when you have to deliver to an MOD base with NO Insignia - NO ONE in uniform -and funnily enough having none of the usual Red MOD signs - actually no signs at all  and with 'civvy' vehicles sounding like nothing on the road - AND having glass that wouldnt look out of place in a sub ;)..Oh and a full sized 747 replica too ;) ;)
Never been so glad to get out of a Place in my life..

And that was just the local scout troop! I'd hate to think what the 'real'place was like!

No offence intended. I'm sure they are all really nice chaps down there!

I see that Military Machines International September issue has a 7-page spread on the pinkie's successor, also now pensioned off but not sold to us civvies.
