12v or 24v?

Hi,
I think I am just being stupid here...    ...is there a really quick easy way to establish whether a Landy is 12v or 24v? I have recently seen a nice 90 with 2 x 12v batteries connected in series, but the lights seem to be 12v bulbs, so its a bit confusing.
I am not electrically minded - more bash it with a hammer approach, so any advice for a stupid person like me would be much appreciated.

Unlike the earlier MOD S111 FFR's which were 24V throughout, the MOD 90/110's were all 12V but the FFR's had an entirely separate 24V system so unless this is a factory supplied 24V vehicle (I believe they were available to order) it is possible that it has been converted for some reason.
Is it an ex-MOD vehicle and what engine does it have fitted? Sometimes people fit an aftermarket engine which requires 24V and they split the electrical systems.

are you sure the battries are in series,

if so, then test the starter motor with a volt meter,

meter set on volts dc, black lead on a good earth, red lead on the big thick wire that bolts onto the starter.

that should tell you

Surely if you put a screwdriver across the battery you will get twice the amount of shock with a 24Volt as opposed to a 12 volt?
