any one help here, just fitted new alternator to rangie 3.9 92K and charge light won,t go out although meter is showing charge when engine running any idea,s please? :D

Could be the new unit is faulty, there is one diode inside it that controls the excitation circuit.
What reading did you get from your meter?
Alternativeley it could be a wiring fault in the car and the current is flowing backwards through the light

meter was reading up to 14.2+/- when enginine running but charge light stayed on

Does it go out with engine turned off?
I'd be tempted to have a drive over to the place you bought it and show them.
