check out this link for some landies with big tyres!

http://www.mez.co.uk/fitting35s.html

What about 900x16 tyres - what is the overall size, implications, etc?

Sill protectors should be ok, discocwk and myself got them custom made by our friend Guardian so they stop at the extended wheel arch, bumper might have to suffer the grinder though.

Thanks for the advice Bulli

What do think James? might be a discount for two sets!!

Yes I have thought of that, mine feels quite slow off the mark as it is. I still need to put my silicone hoses on, flush the intercooler, smoke scew etc..

I still have my old 200 tdi so I thought might be able to swap the transfer box from that with one of our local landy mechanics. Also thought about selling the engine, gearbox etc but it's in great condition and only done about 5 miles since a cambelt change and 1000 miles since a new clutch.

I thought the transfer box ratios for all discos and V8 defenders were 1.2-1. You would need 1.4-1 (defender diesels NA & Turbo!) for the larger tyres, maybe even a 1.6-1 for 35" tyres

Come on James read it properly!! I said I could swap my spare box with a local mechanic maybe noddy or Dan , that way I could pop the defender box on and still keep the original one so I could change it back if I ever wanted to. Oh and thanks for the loan of your spare last week.

Andy you should have come out last Friday mate it was a cracking day! I managed to pull 2 tyres of the rim in one lane, funnily enough the same place you did yours.

I have been thinking on this one and I am thinking of going for diff lockers for now and then larger wheels and tyres at a later date and keeping a sharp eye out for a 1.41 to 1 transfer box at the right price. If I eventualy go for 35's then I think a body lift is a must!

Picked up 4no. pro-comp X terrains 35/12.5/15's on white eight spokes from Birmingham on Saturday, the've done about 400 miles, excellent condition, £300.00 the lot (£660.00 from Craddocks) I will post pic when the pc stops being difficult!

No problems with the gearing or clearance in the arches, it actually seems to pull better then when it had the 32" Grizzly Claws on, though the front bumper will need trimming as you boys said, thanks for the advice.

Thanks to disco cwk for spotting them on e-bay, coming up with me to collect them and for helping to fix the rear wheel bearing when it went bang on the M5 at 70mph. Also got to say thanks to the boys at MM4X4 for letting us borrow their tools to do the job.

Yeh I know what you mean Suggs, I did put them on with the highlift jack on the rock sliders so that they would really go up inside the arches on the opposite corner but as we all know off road is another matter!

its when the back wheels get pushed up on an angle like in the pic, fitting spacers may help..

Have already got spacers fitted, the only place that they look like they might touch on the back is that angled bracket that the mud flaps fix to, so that might have to come off.
