WARN OR SUPERWINCH update
« on: April 18, 2007, 15:10:22 »
I KNOW THIS AS BEEN DISCUSSED BEFORE IN VARIOUS THREADS BUT

IVE GOT THE CHANCE OF A 2ND HAND WARN M8000 THAT SUPPOSEDLY HAS HAD VERY LITTLE USE AND THE CONDITION WOULD SUPPORT THIS

OR FOR A BIT MORE MONEY COULD BUY A NEW SUPER WINCH EPI9

SO ITS ASK THE AUDIENCE TIME WHAT SHOULD IT BE?

CHEERS KEVIN
the shinny blue defender with the winch, checker plate body protection, extra seating and windows
and at this point I noticed the n/s air vent wasnt fully closed so lets not forget the mud stained interior and the water logged kenwood 6disc cd

Is it going to be used for comp use or 'get me out of the poo' use? I'd go for the superwinch.

run warns, love warns...
get the superwinch epi9....it has a cone break not a in drum break, so if you thinking of upgrading to synthetic rope at some point, it the better option
also its quicker than the m8000
and it comes with a sealed contactor as std so no poxy solenoids burning out every 20 mins....just motors instead  :P

Some of the Super winches dont fit in some winch bumpers
Something to do with the size of the motor(?)
When i was selling my Scorpoin bumper a mate try'd his XP6 in it and it would'nt fit
There is a good supply of parts avalible for Warns.
I'd go for the Warn personally

as jake said, ill just expand
on some superwinches the motor and gearbox are offset
so arnt the usual bolt pattern as the drum is either to the left (old x6) or to the right huskey and cant for the life remember the other

Only used the Superwinch once and I've had it over a year now.  It's more than up to the task of bending the mounting plate though
