MOT passed!!!
« on: April 25, 2007, 11:06:42 »
woohoo!!

Just passed our MOT retest. Failed initially on a few points, such as rear quarter chassis replaced by a PO, and the attached it though didn't weld up the seams, front brakes badly imbalanced, number plate lamp not working, dodgy weld on a plate by front ns bumpstop.

So, got the welding sorted by a mate from work, the front was far worse than first look, less than 1mm plate used, sort of tacked on, then p38 to make it look pretty. Now got a new plate and weld. Rear was just some straight lines welded.

The number plate lamp was funny, the bulb was fine, unscrewed it to find no wires coming out of it - it was for show. And it had been put on over wet paint by the PO, so now have some holes in the rear, and an odd shaped blank bit.

The previous MOT was well dodgy, done by somewhere local to the PO on an industrial estate in Northamptonshire (NN postcode).

Still, we have a REAL MOT now!

You're not kidding!!

Dunno about the Nat yet Twm, will have to see if I can find the entrance fee, £50 is a lot of money these days... I do want to, so may have to scrounge, or go halves with my Bro or something.
