Power steering?
« on: May 05, 2007, 12:16:55 »
I'v got a transit 2.5 engine in the series and i want to have power steering fitted if possible. Would the Chris perfect kit still fit or do i need to look at another option?

I am just about to fit a 110V8 PAS system to a new chassis for catflap (S3) next week. I intend to alter the front crossmember rather than remove it. Apparently a standard Rangie coupling/rod assembly will connect the steering column (which pretty-much bolts straight on), to the steering box. I bought the entire PAS steering system for £100.

Would this be any good with a bit of fabrication?

I don't understand your question. The only fabrication will be the front crossmember to fit the steering box (a bit higher so that the drop arm clears the springs), and not too much else. I'll be finding out soon anyway! :D
