Rear Lights
« on: May 06, 2007, 15:09:22 »
Does anyone know how different the fittings on the upper rear lights are between the before and after 96 models? What I may be doing is fitting the multi function rear lights instead of the standard fog lights.

Anyone else done this???

Wiring harness is at the bottom of the body cavity behind the lights. You'll find the incomming harnesses from the bumper on either side. Just disconnect and reconnect to your new clusters.

Had to rebuild one side of mine totally due to corrosion so when you change lube the contacts wrap a good load of tape round the connectrs to try and make them last a lil longer.

So there are dual looms for the rear lights already?

No, misunderstood me.

The veichle loom terminates in the inner win void behind the foglamps on most vits. From there you either have a connection direct to wing monted fogs and a second harness out to the bumper OR the other way round.

T Have both sets of clusters you'll need to make a splitter up or rewire. Given the state these get into get  waterproof multiways from Simtec and make new leads up for it all :)
