can anyone tell me if its possible to get the circlip out of the bottom pulley from the aircon belt? mine has collasped today and i stupidly thought again ahhhh 5 min job undone the bolt and retreived what was left of the bearing easy peasy

put on inspection of the pulley the circlip dont have the normal two holes to stick me pliers in and pull its just 2 angled flat edges....

i have some nice new bearing chases i bought and id like to get them all back and working b4 work tonight ... many thanks in advance keith

It is possible.  They are snap rings, not circlips, they are not designed to be removed hence no rings for the circlip pliers.

You just have to struggle with some small screw drivers and hammer to persuede them out.  I did both on my 300TDI one took 15 mins, the other 45mins!  Once out it doesn't take five mins to complete.
