Thats what i thought to be honest..... there's one on ebay, no sol pack, but he said i could have it for 475 ish, inc new motor and other parts..... not terrible eh!!
I already have a cheapy winch, but i want a more reliable and better one, i'll probably end up with a Superwinch ep9 with contactor inside the truck....., oh, and bowrope!

get a epi9   comes with sealed contactor as std
i say get the i version with the bridge cos, if you get the low line, you'll be having problems with bunching up at one side and bending tierods, with the epi9 no need worry about bunching

so you can fit 9.5mil plasma ( dont have anything else   ) and keep 100 ft of rope, if you had the ep you'd really only be able have 90 ft, or else it would be a royal PITA when on side pulls

and 475 for a 8274

you can have my modded on off the front with a 5.6 motor with contactor for that

not that im selling of course   got a xp motor landing on my doorstep for it monday  8)

I didn't think the price was too terrible, still, what do i know....!!

I see what crops up winch wise, the one i have works, it's just cheap cr4p instead of being something nice to look at!!

Thanks!

wel, to buy the 8274 fit a 5.6 bowmotor, fit a albright and to fit uprated break pads....hasnt even cost me that much, so that was why my reaction was like that
but if getting a ep i can reccomend them as a damn good winch and will pull all day and not let you down, mine never failed me

just get a epi9 against the ep9 for the reasons as i said b4, if you intend on fitting plasma

Looking at the centre of the wheels against the position of the axle I'd say most of the lift is coming from portals!

Very nice disco though!

We mounted  the spring seats aprox. 3 inch higher on the chassis. We've fitted springs which result in a 5 inch lift (makes +2 inch) and fitted maxidrive portal-hubs and that makes another 4inch lift and that totals in aprox. 6 inch lift with dual shocks.

Now we've fitted 36" simex but we intend to mount 38,5" tyres.

Amazing truck. Considering the size of the tyres and lift, if i tried that hole I'd be half way up the windows.

Impressive!

Just to clarity, are you saying the bridge on the epi9 has more space above drum than the tierods on the ep9? Interesting point :-k .

Sorry for hijacking the thread but..................

Maarten, what diff ratios are you running? If you have fitted portal hubs then i'm guessing that you are using the standard rover axle casings. Are you using rover diffs? Cheers, G

the diff ratios are 4.11 and the portal-hub has a 30% reduction. We have used the standard axle casings with maxidrive lockers. We did improve the axle casing a litte because we were affraid they wouldn't last.....

Best regards,

Maarten
