I have heard that sometimes the MOT testers fail Landys for rusty bulkheads.
Are they right to fail them?
What is the reason for failure? Structural weakness or sharp bits sticking out ie danger to public?
If theres a harder way to do it I`ll find it!!

Any rust within 30cm of any saftey feature or that causes structual weekness will fail an MOT, so it all depends were the rust is exactly & of course how bad it is.
Although something that is a danger to the public will cause a fail its not a very common reason for failures.

Anybody know if they would be OK. Could I just fill them for cosmetic reasons or not?

If it's an MOT fail due to corrosion within 30cm of body mount, door hinge, or other stress point then it must be welded. Some rusty holes fail just because they have sharp edges and this type can be filled or even just covered with tape to prevent damage to other persons.

Its not failed, but its due test soon. Is it the proximity to the door hinge that causes failure on the bulkhead?
