Well that was some weekend !!!!
« on: June 04, 2007, 17:53:38 »
Was away for a wee break this weekend to Fort William
On the way up I got caught in a mobile "safety" camera as I was overtaking an X5 with a trailer    - I'll bet when the ticket comes through the post I was doing less than 70 in a 60 limit while overtaking on the only long straight on that particular bit of road - what's unsafe about that ?
Left Fort William early on Sunday cos it was hissing it down (Sorry Highlander 1 - didn't have time to come and see you - planned to head that way on Sunday but weather was terrible as you will know ! )
Got about 5 miles out of Crianlarich when the Focus C-Max I was following came to a gentle halt in the middle of the road with no signals at all - indicated and pulled out to overtake him only for him to turn right and side swipe the Rangie as I passed him !
Took his details - bloody Polish and not very good at English - he missed his turning and didn't see me behind although I had been following for about 2 miles with my headlights on
Rangie is going to need a new front passenger door and a scratch doing on the rear pass door
Focus will need a new bonnet, front wing, headlight, bumper and a radiator

Not a happy bunny

I think that weekend should fall into the '[!Expletive Deleted!]' category! My sympathies are with you, and hope the other driver has insurance. My experience shows a lot of these are 'Pool Car' drivers. Hope it gets sorted.

The Polish chap had his wife and bairn with him - they were all OK so that's the main thing
I couldn't believe how the front of his focus seemed to have exploded in what was a fairly low speed impact though
His insurance details seem fine according to my insurers so next stop the body shop I suppose

Its quite simple really, a bit like one of your riddles! No, only joking!

Whilst carrying out some indepth research into the differeing types of Leffe Beer, I decided to tap 'drunk man' into images on Google and that piccy popped up.
As it contains two things which are quite prominent in my life, namely beer (good) and ponies(bad, bad, bad!!!) it seemed quite apt.
The story to which the pic belongs was amusing.
It involved a drunk German being caught by security staff in a major hotel trying to get said horse into his room on the 4th floor, but only succedding into getting it onto the landing after having got it up in the lift.
After exiting the lift he passed out. The Police were baffled as to why he wanted the horse in his room
Apparently when he came round, he was asked by the medics if he was unwell as he was coughing a lot, he said "Well, I have been feeling a little hoarse recently".........................................................................

I'll get my coat

The two morals to this tale are:

1) If you are a Teutonic Horse Fetishist, don't get drunk.
2) Don't go 'Image Googling' when half cut.

Don't turn safe search off and look for "Mr Ed" either

There are times when having a job which requires you occasionally turning safe search off does nothing for your state of sanity

I used to know a bloke who went on an internet course as he was completely computer illiterate, the tutor told them the first task was to get an email address each so got them to log onto hotmail and create one, everyone else was doing it fine but he got some picture of a well endowed man on his screen.......you guessed it he typed hotmale

Sorry you never made it kenny had the BBQ at the ready and a spare room but as you said weather was deplorable and all tourists fled in disgust.

Bring your wellies, and a big rain coat, hat, flippers for next time hope you took the details of El polish guy's green card!

I have dealt with a lot of them here and they usually end up over the vodka limit. Sorry to our polish members, not being stereo typical but every time a coco nut so far in my experience and because I can't understand Polish it's hard to tell if they are intoxicated or not.

Best of luck with the motor mate we are 30 Min's north of Fort on Road to the Isles.

Cheers H1
