Noticed a grinding sort of sound this morning. Not very noticable but there all the same. I work 2 miles away from home, on my return home for lunch it was louder and only when I accelerate. Came home from work toniight and is very loud

I have looked at the prop shaft UJ's and they are all fine.
Had a pull on all the wheels and no movment there.

Any ideas?

Help

Maybe I was miss told by the garage then. Just receved my new alturnator (Long story ANC returned my parsel again  )

Went for a drive and the noise is still there. Oil levels are all fine I am sure its from round the engine.

Need to gety the cam belt changed (over 50 thous) could it be one of the pullys?

Found a problem and I think it could be one of the pullys.

200 Tdi. The pully that conects the fan belt to the alternator belt has in 'n out movement and also up and down movement.

What is this bit called? Need to get a replacment fitted asap. I think its the power steering but  :?
