Interesting day at Langdale

Well I've just had an interesting day.

I turned up expecting to be performing my usual patrol/instructor duties.  Not today.  I was handed a new (clean) Moorland Adventure Sport t-shirt and the keys to a brand new (64 miles on the clock) Skoda Octavia 4x4.

My job for the day was to ferry a film crew from Sky Sports around the site while they filmed some quads.  Lot's of backwards and forwards on the same section over and over again so that they could get the right shots.  Was a fun day.

The Skoda performed admirably, with only ground clearance causing problems.  Not bad value for £17k.

No idea when it will be televised, but it was filmed as part of the Thundercats boat racing taking place at Scarborough.  If you manage to catch it, keep an eye out for the dude in the floppy hat.   :D

Sounds like you had great fun.

We were planning to come up this saturday with a couple of mates, but my sciatica is giving me stick at the moment and I reckon a day in Langdale wouldn't do me any favours. You never know though, I might just dose myself with painkillers and let HWMBO drive there and back while I sleep....  maybe I could manage some of the trail without getting too shook up ?

Ian will be there in his white series along with Dave who has recently caught the bug and will be renting a vehicle.....  you can't miss him in his motorhome. Say Hi to them for me if I don't get there eh ?
