Dark days - a lighting issue!
« on: June 08, 2007, 16:59:28 »
Hi all

I posted a question recently about changing the bulbs behind the instrument panel on my SJ (spanish).  I followed the instructions and the swap out went perfectly.  However, the lights behind the dask still don't work.

When I checked the fuses, the fuse in question had blown - finally thought I was getting somewhere!!  I put in a new fuse and 'pop', it blew instantly.  I tried it a few more times and the same thing happens.

So, does anyone have any ideas as to how I could begin to solve the problem?  I hasten to add that wiring is not my strong point!!!

Any guidance gratefully received  :)

Geoff

was the dash screwed in place when you replaced the fuse and it blew straight away,if so remove the dash from its housing and then replace the fuse,if it dos,nt blow offer the dash back in place to see if something behind is shorting it to the body.hope this helps
