Basically how different in width are the gutters? Is it likely that a series roofrack will fit or can be made to fit?

Should fit, same width as far as i can tell.

i had a defender roof rack on my series 3 to deliver it to some one- fitted fine

i guess it would work the other way  :D

should fit. you can swap the roof between a 109 and a 110 for example, so there you go!
