The TD5 passed the MOT today, but by the skin of its teeth - the max allowed rating on the smoke test was 3.00, and mine came in at 2.99  8)

I'd given it a blast down the dual carriageway in 4th but next time I think some injector cleaner will be necessary...

Chuck some of that Redex diesel treatment in.  It works wonders on cleaning the injectors.  In regard to the measurment, it doesn't matter as long as it passes!

Or run biodiesel! They keep checking the tester as it looks like it's clogged and not reading

Oil change, air & oil & fuel filter change, along with diesel treatment in the system, always worth doing before mot.

It wont do it any harm, and may stops the beads of sweat forming whilst testing

Also a good run before going into the test to get it up to running temp helps

Glad you got through, nice one

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40

Just put my 200TDI through its test today

FAILED  :(

Headlamps full of water
Exhaust knackered
Front to back brake pipe crodded
Welding required by rear spring mounts

But on a good note - Emmissions spot on  :D
