My Disco is coming on nicely now. Almost finished fitting the snorkel (finally!). Just need to seal up a few places with some silicon, as there are a few bits around the airbox where you can feel air being pulled in, mainly around the cap, but also need to seal off the drain valve. Plus it couldn't hurt to run some silicon around the joints, though couldn't feel any air pulling through there.

Next is getting round to having a look at the diff lock, followed by getting some MTs!

just been going through the same thing with my disco and snorkal, just trying to figure out a good way of sealing the drain plug, let me know when you have found a way!

I read somewhere on LR4x4 that a red WD40 cap is about the right size to blank it off, combined with a liberal dosage of silicone.

My main problem was getting hold of some hose and fittings to connect it all up. Bit of a bodge at the moment but I reckon it'll work. 4" ali flexi hose (that stuff they use on tumble dryers, extractor hoods etc), with slightly modified 4" rubber drainage pipe couplers to fill in the gap between the snorkel/flexi and airbox/flexi, with jubilee clips holding it together. Just need to slap some silicone round the joints and leaky airbox bits tomorrow and it's done.

Looking at the weather now, I'll be testing it out soon...

Take it your snorkal is the 'wrong' one then, mine just needed a little trimming of the end of the airbox intake tube and it fitted like a glove?

I took a piece of plastic a couple of mm thick, cut it roughly to shape and then filed it to just fit between the existing rubber cap and the end of the nozzle on the air box.  I then siliconed it all together.  Coins sometimes work if you have a wide selection of sizes.

It's worth going through all your air hoses, removing them and siliconing up every joint, even if you can't feel air being sucked in.  Some people check for a seal by sticking something solid over the end of the snorkel and trying to stall the engine, but I'm not sure this is a great idea as it will collapse all your hoses and may start creating leaks where there weren't leaks before.

Yup, got a 2nd hand 200 snorkel, and I have a 300. Had to replace the 300 airbox with a 200 item, but the washer reservoir gets in the way if you try to connect the airbox direct to the snorkel.
