waxoiling etc Disco V8 Plymouth area
« on: June 25, 2007, 13:32:52 »
Hi Guys i am after some help. I am looking for a recommended garage in the Plymouth/Tavistock area for steam cleaning underneath plus applying black waxoil. the box sections also should be injected at the same time. I have spoke to the guy at Tavistock next to Waterways & he wants £220 plus vat. seems a bit steep to me

You could always try Kleentect .... three times the price but he does use his own "special" additive.  Theres no certification for his special "additive" but he does have a really funny strip cartoon in his advert.

£220 sounds a bit cheap to me if its a propper job.

I bought my Disco from waterways in tavistock a couple of months ago.

TBH they seem pretty good as the guy next door does all the work for waterways, at least when I said the sunroofs leak they actually had the headlining down to investigate! not many garages would do that.

I waxoyled my RRC a few years ago. What a right royal pain in the rear. I'd pay £220 to avoid the mess, aggro, time spent, cost of waxoyl, etc.

it is a big job, i know it sounds silly, but it is. i did my 90, it took me a day and a half with a electric drill plugged into the mains with a wire brush thing on the end to get all the dirt off. then took me 2 hours to do a thorough job with the waxoyl.
worth it, but a pain in the behind. and big job and i hated it... dusty... just a messy job.
