british customer service - non existant
« on: June 28, 2007, 18:39:10 »
After a few years of owning an Audi and being generally pleased with the level of service I got from my main dealer I now own a Merc and can quickly see a difference!!  I know people say that customer service here in Britain is very poor I today have experienced this from my local Merc. dealer.

I had it booked in to get its cam sensor replaced (as it enjoys cutting out at busy junctions and refuses to restart for 5 minutes afterwards!!) and so took it in this morning leaving my details and number with them, 3.30pm came and with no phone call I rang them, the receptionist assured me someone would phone back straight away to let me know what was going on with it, 4.30 came and went, still no call, I rang them back, got put on hold for 5 minutes and was told the message was passed on and they would phone me back straight away.........5.15pm and I rang them.....same again, they would phone back right away, its now 6.15pm and I am home after getting the bus 12 miles, level of service from Merc.....NIL!!!!   £14,000 of merc and having to catch the bus non the wiser about where my car is or where they are up to with it....UNBELIEVABLE!!   God knows how I will get to work tomorrow, could take the Landy but it would be stranded at work then and I need it for laning on Sunday!!

Rant Over....Need beer now!! should have kept the Audi:-(

Merc dealers are supposed to have a dreadful reputation for customer service.  Having said that, on the occasion I had to deal with our local Audi garage, they were useless too.

Big money car companys are usually the worst of the lot, I had to have my 2005 Ford Focus in to have the Air Con sorted out as it wasn't working. The local Ford dealer put a new condenser on and lent my wife a 56 plate Ka for the day FOC, imagine my suprise when she picked the Focus up it was fully valeted aswell.
