I have just got a td5 grille off eblag and I am going to retrofit it to my 300 tdi, just looked at a td5 today and realised they are a bit deeper and the bumper recesses a bit to accomodate it, has anyone done this mod before or have I to get the air saw out again!!

Tried this my self but gave up you have to fit the TD5 indecaters as well as the bit that fits under them and still trim the grill mine looked like crap so went back to standard :(mad):

I am leaving the bits under the headlights as they are, I am hoping I can trim these to the shape of the new grille hence not having to change the indicators

Looking good chris! I am inspired! Think I better worry about getting it roadworthy before I make it look nicer though!
Its mission on for a week tommorrow. All I have to do it buy and fit a boot floor, replace the steering damper get some wheels and tyres and find £100 to tax it!
Not much then.... :D

Not a lot then......I have some 235/75/15 Colway AT's on black steel weller type rims if ur interested for sale at mates rates, been clogging up my garage for a bit!! If you need a lift with the welding I am fairley good (used to weld chassis up on coaches and botch 'holey' steel panels!!) Forgot to bring the bloody laptop home so will have to sort out the route on Monday! There is a good shop in Leyland I use for Landy bits, its called K motors just off Centurion Way, I got a delphi de-carbon steering damper for £31.00!
Can't help you with the £100 tax i'm afraid!

I was going to go to k motors this morning but I didnt have anything big enough to collect a floor in (well apart from a disco with no tax and no boot floor)!!. Only thing in work I could borrow was a merc A class, terrible car! Plus I was babysitting now swmbo has a part time job.
I think I should be OK with the welding, one of the lads from work has offered to help if I cant manage it but i should be OK, I did almost a third of a welding nite school course dont ya know lol.
Been offered come colway muds on 16" disco steels but its getting to the lakes to collect em thats the problem, its a busy week! Sure u dont wanna help with the road tax?? ;)
Thanks again for the offer of help, its much appreciated. Its mainly time I am short of. Going into work tomorrow morning to grind and prepare then its mission on! Not sure I will manage it by sunday but I will give it a damn good go!
