Dolt's guide to DII sunroof drainpipes
« on: July 10, 2007, 10:42:05 »
I've noticed when it's been raining that when I start the truck and drive off, I can hear a quite noticeable slooshing noise of water running around.

I'm not positive, but my guess is that this is to do with the sunroof (which leaks, in the finest Land Rover style).

I've replaced the seal, but I suspect the drain tubes may be blocked.  The problem is, I've looked for the tubes before, and not found them.  Because of my roof rack (which is virtually impossible for me to remove) I can't see the mechanism very clearly.

Can anybody tell me, very clearly in words of 1 syllable or less, or even better post a photo, where the sunroof drainpipes are on the DII manual front sunroof?

Thanks!

its for a D1 but cant see the sunroofs being that much different

To check the drains, open the sunroof and pour some water round the edge of the inside and see if it disapears, you should get a puddle on the floor under the car if they are not blocked

Ideal, thanks.  The roof is different on the DII but I should think there's a good chance the sunroofs are the same.  I'll check it out a little later.
