« on: July 10, 2007, 13:23:41 »
I have got a lifted 2002 Disco 2 with 33" W&T's and now need to increase the ratio in the transfere box.  I hasve a box that can be reworked. Does anyone know how easy it is to do & where to get gears from.
Alternatively is there anywhere to get one built for a reasonable price. Cheapest so far is £450 from Ashcroft, LEGS,
Rough & ready 2001 Disco 2
4" lift with 235/85/16 Insa turbo
Steel rear bumper, rock sliders. Winch bumper with winch & A bar & lights, Safari snorkel
Steering, front & rear diff guards
Genuine G4 roof rack with warn lights

Imay be wrong,   so I'm prepared to be corrected,

You need to fit a 1.44.1 ratio tranfer box, I believe they are fitted to some defenders that have 'higher' tyres,

All being well thats what's going into mine at the weekend  :D  as I am running 33's,

Hope this helps.
John.

fit a late 90 transfer box 1.410 ratio ( well there all the same down to when 90's were built) just is you dont want to fix a old box to a 5 yr old car
also then you'll have difflock aswel if your disco isnt fitted with it
