The vast majority of the changes are to the back-end code of the site, and as such won't be especially visible.

What a way to spend a Sunday, eh ?

Is there a particular reason why the "topic watch" email no longer contains the actual message? It was quite useful at times, just means you have to go to the forum to read the message.

No specific reason... other than it being broken :-)

I'll take a look.

Don't forget, if you have an RSS feed reader, or a browser that does it, you can get a live feed from the forums too.  ;-)

I have to say I'm not a fan of the latest changes to the site.
Up 'till last week I would get a notification of the text that had been entered into a string I was interested in, often as a response to my own comments.  Now all I get is a notification that something has been entered, not what.  Nor will I receive any further notification 'till I visit the string again.
All I have in fact is about a dozen identical, useless, E-mails.  For those of us on dial-up this is a waste of time on the 'phone and an inconvenience, not least because I frequently view my e-mail after I have terminated my internet connection, my 'phone also serves for my business after all, and now I have to reconnect to see what has actualy been said.

The e-mail notification is pointless for me.

Range Rover Blues,

I'm sure topic notification will be back up to the way it was as soon as soon as poss. The problem is down to hackers, and the tightening up of holes/plug-ins that are not supported.

We lost a few things in the switch over, but just like the early days of mud-club, they'll come back online ;-)
