disco truck.
« on: July 20, 2007, 17:13:11 »
Some pics of the build so far, my friend decided it needed a name and called it “juggernaut project". I have not ordered any new parts yet as I am a student and i have no money. And all the cuts are only rough so its not a case of bad saw skills. Let me know what you think.
And also take in to account its been done by an 18 year old as well

my centre console is a bit broken. does anyone have one that i can buy?
:-o :-o :-o

Btw there are parts for sale;

2x 300 tdi front seats beige
3x 300 tdi rear seats beige
5x seatbelts
2 x side windows (3door) with fixings
2x rear roof windows
4x range rover alloys (with assorted rubber)

Brave indeed!

Don't suppose the front bumper had foglights in it?
If it did, I'd be interested!

it will be a pick up. i was tempted to go for a 110 crew-cab style thing but when ever its driven off road it just drags its arse on the floor so im getting rid of the overhangs, am also thinking about ladoga too

new pics of todays work and bad cutting skills

the back of the cab will be welded right against this member ther the exess roof will be folded over and welded......dont understand? tough! youll have to see what happens tomorow :P

dodgy "4x4 is born" template! i wouldnt do it like this normally it was the Easiest way at the time

the back of the cab is roughly done , there is about 2squere inches in total left to cut to make it fit properley, its tac welded in place for the moment.

i cant reley explain what happend apart from the fact i got careless and chopped to much of the back pannel off, so i had to stich it back together.

hahaha to true.
ran into a bit of a problem today, where the rear and middle windows mate to the car there is that curve in the body pannel, i was going to cut 2inches off of that and put in a bit of 2"x2" box to make it a wee bit stronger but my recip saw or my grinder wont  fit properley because the end of the saw hits the alli pannel which is not what i need, and the grinder wont fit properley so i had to order a plasma cutter for monday. if i had just bit the bullet and got one to start with it would be all done by now!!!!!

thats the way we do it! those jacks are ok but there reley unstable!i did get it higher than this but then the jack shifted sideways and so did the car!

what im doing is cutting(the plasma cutter came btw!)the inside sills to make a ledge so i can weld some box section around the truck bed.

looking good so far. theres alot of excess chasis to be lost though

untill tomorow

Sanding walls is more exciting than Big brother.

I have an idea what this is gonna look like when you are done and if i'm right should be pretty cool. Hope I'm right :)
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
