that thought did occur to me but then i also thought i have to change the tyres over after i take it out weather they be muddy or not and what ever the weather! also got to find somewhere to keep 4-5 38" boggers! Chris Abel is selling his iroks and i got my eye on them but I'm not paying over 550 for them! i think he wants allot more than that, they start at 400 but i refuse to get into bidding wars on eBay! if in the event that i do get some nice big tyres then i will be going down the farm and hijacking some of marks old wheels! i will probably have to do this anyway because the cage is going to put another 2.5" inches in to the height, still no word from Shaun BTW. he is going to lose out on business if he doesn't get a move on, i cant afford to wait much longer!

can anyone tell me whats wrong with this dimension

2.5"

the first person to get it will get a free k&n sticker!

Wheres the metric? decimal maby but its still in inches
Doesn't matter whether you express it as decimal or as a fraction its still measured using imperial units.

Quote
because the cage is going to put another 2.5" inches in to the height
This could be classes as wrong though where used both the abriviation for inches and the word. For example have you ever done the same with metric and writen
2.5mm millimeters

Obviously its late and any sense of humour has left me.

OK, childish side coming out now! caught jays thread lastnight and saw how far along he is, i have been at this for longer than him and i am falling behind! this is not good! and makes me look bad! nothing against jay at all just it has made me realise how much of a slacker i am! SO, started a little bit of fab work today on the arse end, lights will probably be in tomorrow provided nothing goes wrong(touch wood) it does all look a bit scruffy but its a really hard area to work properly so i have done it within the time i have allowed myself and i will make it look a bit better later down the line! it holds fine so its OK for now!

started the day outside then the wind picked up

fold it

seen worse

needs chopping :|

glued with silicone and popped with rivvets!

as i am writing this i can almost hear some of you saying "why the hell has he only done 1!" well its one of those jobs where is takes hours to do the first one then about 45Min's for the second one. hopefully should be done for tomorrow.

no idea about electrics, but it does sound like a bad earth or a fuse, that would be a good starting point. back end looks topjob now, i like how it looks alot. good work!

went on down to BOC today and got some gas. along with other goodies like self locking mole grips! amazing ! anyone who has done a project like this can tell you that there are highs and lows to it all, i was approaching a low then this happend and made me smile again!

i think it is all coming together pretty well! its the first time that i have truly felt Happy about it all!

the amazing molegrips that don't need to be adjusted! spent ages just seeing what they would and wouldn't grip on to!

as it was before the paint.....still not sure on the shiny black! but this is it after i ran a flap disk over it....some rather hideous welds i know but they have all penetrated! would like to invest in a nice 3phase MiG set and an AC/DC TIG plant but i cant afford to do that and continue with the truck so i think ill make do for the while.

today there was lots of swaring, decided id had enough of oil patches on the garage floor (started to look a bit messey...er)so i took the sump off and put some new goo on it. fingers crossed that will be that . i had never done the job before and looking back on it it was a stuped mistake but when i undid the drain plug i had the bowl under it waiting for it to trickle out......it [!Expletive Deleted!] out! all over my neck and right arm! will not be making that mistake again! also shed aload of things that wernt nessasary/broken, the doghnut thing and my steering damper was pretty mullerd so took that off too.
took a photo of the back end with the lights in and i now know it wont be long now

ah! at least I'm not the only one!
did nothing today. had to help some one get a fridge and move it about. and do some painting.
cut the waffle board to fit, shouldn't have really because there my dads but i have used them more than he ever has/will! my case proven.
sprayed all the raw metal i could find with plasticoat and made measurements to finally fit and secure the light fixings properly. so should be "done" tomorrow
i know i shouldn't make claims like that but i think it might be.

came home early today, feel like [!Expletive Deleted!] and there are problems with the females of the species and on top of that my driving test was canceled which now puts my apprenticeship in jeopardy all this is making me weld like poo and i haven't been sleeping well and I'm just not up to it all. there was a threat of it being finished today but my already lousey attitude took another blow when the lights still refused to work. just went down hill from there.
some pics of crap welding for you, now I'm going to crawl into bed and die!
