Sat in my garage I have a 1.9Kw Honda and 800W Wolf generator. If these would help anyone from the club affected by the flooding then I'm willing to loan them. I'm sure there are others on here that would love to assist if they can in any way. PM me if either of these units would help you out.

Here, Here, well done you guys, i was a bit dissapointed to hear about people charging each other for ferrying people a cars through Henley over the weekend. Was good to know our some of our guys were there helping for free. and now were even offering aid. =D>

I've been pulling people out (charging when they ignore road closed signs and me saying "You WONT make it!"), moving vehicles to high ground, helping with casevacs and ferrying people (including paramedics and firecrews)

No but the thought is there in the back of my mind that we could offer. Need a member in the affected areas to co-ordinate it though. I dont know a lot about the state of Bucks, Oxford etc although I know its not good.

Insurance may become a pain butoff the top of my head I know in hants we have at least 3 veichles right off the bat capable of recovery work and working in deep water, and I'm almost sure theyd be willing to pitch in.

What I suspect would really help would be people to tow/rescue people, recover veichles/clear waterways and anyone in the agri business that may have water pumps. Went through this in Coaldale a few years back and spent the entire two weeks of my holidays shuffling 3 rover turbine pumps about in the ranger.

I think when its all a bit of a laff etc and its only something liek a foor then a few beer tokens is fine, its just a bit past that now. I'd love to help if I had a clutch.

My cousin drove all the way back from Germany on Friday to go to Billing, got to Stratford Upon Avon, saw how bad it was and spent two days dragging cars out of water and ferrying people around, all this in a V8 Rangie!!

I would have joined him had my 110 not failed an MOT on Friday morning..

fair do to you JD. I am quite willing to help. The old girl is equipped with a snorkel, wading kit and winch. Mind you, it maybe better to use the Disco and leave the wife at home. She gets a bit tetchy if the water goes over her head!
Seriously though, I would be quite happy to assist if a call comes out to the Mud Club. Having been involved in similar actions due to my job, I know how useful a team of well equipped 4x4s can be.

Have thought about registering a group here before but no call for it locally where the most trouble you'll get into is stuck in a bog. If there are anough hants/dorset/sussex members that would like to come on board its do-able I guess. I'm sure I can actually scrape up at least one 4x4 ambulance and crew too :)

Hi folks,

I've heard from Darren in Gloucestershire 4x4 Response, they have carried out a couple of missions over the last day or two.

I have spoken at some length with my contact in the Red Cross tonight, who confirms that the Control centre has our details and will call if the situation changes if only a small response is needed I will of course pass it to Gloucester 4x4 .

It seems that they are treating this very much as they would an international disaster, and will be setting up a Distribution Centre near Gloucester probably at RAF Quedgley. This will be up and running Wednesday/ Thursday. When they may well call on us to assist with distribution. The probability is that we will not be required before then. However, there is also concern regarding the whole Thames Valley between Oxford & London which of course is highly populated

I will be updated at 10.00 am tomorrow and will update you if necessary.

Hiya Guys/Gals

With the recent water floods in Gloucester and surrounding areas i am going to request a little help.

I am considering driving down on Friday until Sunday and possibly returning Monday until Tuesday night.

This is not a pre organised tour , its just i think of all the elderly people and young children who are without water etc.

Claire (the wife) returned home from work and told me that Walsall green watch fire brigade (where she works as a firefighter) went there straight from work and returned today and told me of the destruction and carnage.

I just feel i would like to do something to help our own country folk.

I am going to take bottled water with me , this is my request if at all possible , can you ask your companies and maybe yourself to donate fresh water for me to take.

I will be taking a trailer aswel for the water and when its gone i will stay and help out with a little clearing...although it will be a little effort im sure a lot of little efforts will go a long way.

I am currently awaiting a mail/call from the red cross and the fir brigade in Glouster area as to where i can be of any assistance.

I'm happy to help anyone in the Daventry / Banbury sort of area. I went out looking for floods to tow people out of yesterday but after doing 50miles worth of back roads I only found 1 road closed and managed to persuade 2 people not to go through. I feel this was slightly better than towing them out after thier car was written off.

If anyone else needs any help pm me and I can help in the afternoons. I am busy at weekends though for the time being.

Anyone know what the situation is like in the Derby, Chesterfield and west of derby is like as I am heading up there this weekend.

South of Derby was getting messy again last night about six o'clock around Swarkestone and Swepstone but all passable with care,no problems at all in Chesterfield just refitting shops from 3 weeks ago,cheers Andy.

Think it would be a good idea if someone from the affected areas got inn touch with the local rerscue control centre on ther ground so to speak and let it be know to them that a 4x4 group is willing to help them post up on here i for one would be happy to help out in any way a could.

My gut feeling though is that anyone in the effected areas are probably doing other things than thinking about looking on here. It maybe a better idea if someone not in the effected areas contacted the local rescue group to offer help?

Ok guys !

I have had a bit of a donation from virgin trains and our club owner of around 10 18ltr water butts and around 6 25ltr butts.

I will be taking these to the Glocester area (i think) on saturday morning if anybody is interested in coming.

I will pull my trailer down too and see if any thing else needs doing.

The Mrs works as a firefighter at Walsall and there green watch has been down and they said its just a bloody mess and theres carnage everywhere. (where exactly they went i dont know).

Im sure there will be debris and cars to shift.

Im off for a few days so i gonna offer myself and my mule
