For running the lights etc, I took a heavy feed off the + terminal and wired it as the supply into a fuse box on the top of the passenger side inner wing. Then you have (in my case) 6 fused terminals from which to take the power for lights, rear cig lighter socket, inverter etc.
In my case the battery also runs the winch and is charged through a split charger as I use the rear cig lighter socket to power a cooler box for camping and I didn't want the cooler draining the starter battery overnight.
I'm using two, wet, deep cycle batteries that I got from
Tayna. They will still leak if you intend putting the Disco on it's roof, unlike the Optima or one of the otehr gel batteries, but you can buy two of these for the price of one Optima.
