Morning folk's have any of you bought tool's from this company, and if you have are they any good for occasional use or just crap.
I know you get what you pay for but i can't justify paying big money for tool's that only get used from time to time.Plus i'm a tight scotsman.

dont buy cheap tools, they break, snap or bend the first time you use them and in the long run thy cost you more.
buy "good" stuff ( silverline spanners are very good).

i couldnt agree more, my personal fave are Halfords. They arent too silly money and you can buy a box with nearly everything you will need in for less than a ton.

Normally I would agree but it depends on what you want:

If it might damage the job don't go cheap but many things they will do the job at a fraction of the price and you don't need them to last long to pay their way.

Nother vote for Halfords here, but in this case, the professional range stuff. Has the cheap stuff come apart before (sockets seem to be made out of toffee) Never had any of the profession range stuff I have now let me down.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

Yep go for the professional range, not bad quality plus a life time guarantee on them too!

Cheers

Northern tools have some good stuff at good prices but they also have some rubbish stuff, i,ve bought 3 ton trolley jacks and axle stands which were good value and a 1/2" drive battery 24v rattle gun which i use at work and it does get hard work as well and has been no trouble, also had a battery drill from them which has been very reliable
