Looks Photoshopped :)

The boats keel would need a good few feet of water certainly more than enough to drown the fronty at the distance. Look closely at the car too, notice the image is much sharper than the rest. Lot of 'artifacts' around the car too which may mean its been retouched too. Notice that the same contrast exists around the blue barrel without the artifacts.

I could be wrong but I would put money on this being a fake
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

I know that bit of water I think.
It looks like the estuary from the river Alt in Formby.
There is a sailing club there and its possible to get  onto the beach in a car.
Though Im not sure you would get a 4wd drive out that far as the mud is so soft.
As for the boats keel the estuary is a very deep gully and easily takes the boat and it will be very shallow at low to mid tide either side of the gully.

But this opens the question of how the car got over they channel/gully

Has anyone got any other links for it? I'm sure it would have hit the press else where.

Right Ive got to the bottom of this (excuse the pun)

Today while helping man the CRAG stand at RAF Woodvale Rally near Southport , space donated by the Liverpool Land Rover Club   thanks guys  :D
A group of youths (referred to here as scallies) came over, and where showing a keen interest in one of the Challenge (defender) trucks.
So we went to check, then on talking to them, they asked about my Frontera, and mentioned the got on stuck a while ago on the beach in a Frontera 2.3.
Further investigation, it was this one in the picture.
The went to the military range (altcar) and asked for help, they couldnt believe how far out they where, no one could help them, so they said they just left it, as it only cost £1000   .
They had tried (illegally) to drive from Crosby to Southport, but hadnt figured on the river Alt Eastuary.

They mae a sharp exit when they realised what CRAG stood for,
So its not photo shopped
