Went to Magna Centre the other week with a coach load of kids and after turning left off Jct 34 M1 onto A6178 Sheffield Road noticed a garage on the right with some interesting trucks inside. Didnt get chance to go back for a look though

Didnt get chance to go back for a look thoughThat'd be S Harrison Ltd. They still run several Scamell Highwayman artics, plus a sixties Foden and a few other interesting trucks, many of which are my age. They have a couple of Highwaymans converted to 42Tonnes, triple axles and all, frightening concept. The family are famous, or should that be infamous, amongst local transport enthusiasts and his trucks have often been painted by local artist K Hudson, before is ilness. One of their contracts was with local steel company KPS so I used to see the Highwayman on my way to work.
I've done the 'great north road' a couple of times myself, from London up to Newcastle
Fantastic road, especiallly when you're a young man and think nothing of driving all night.
The A6 over Shap, arn't the fields to either side still littered with the rusting remains of many heavy goods vehicles that went a little too fast?
Here's one from today Richard :D
You need to go to scandinavia, it would be your wet dream, these bonneted trucks are ten a penny. I should have taken you some piccys, lots of really old 40's - 70's stuff in daily use too!
