Cooper STT's
« on: August 03, 2007, 20:54:12 »
Just taken delivery of four new Cooper Discovery STT's for the babybus. They are alot more agressive than I had thought they would be. According to all the reports on the web they are tremendous but they seem very agressive and quite soft. has anyone heard anything about them? Especially what are they like on tarmac as I cannot be bothered changing tyres every time I want to go off road. Thanks in advance

It depends what you call aggressive, some people I know won't consider anything like cooper STT etc. because there no where near aggresive enough.

I don't have coopers, rather BFG MTs instead, but it surprised me just how quite and well mannered on the road they were, no worse than the retread all terrains I have. I also have firestone SATs which make the BFGs look as smooth as a babys skin and are rather less well mannered on the road. no need to guess which ones get used if it involves driving any long distances.

Thanks for the  responses. I think I will go ahead and get them fitted. I was just a tad concerned when I saw them although all the write ups sing their praises.
Once fitted then D8 here I come as long as blackbelt bob can pull me out with his new winch!!

I had a set of BFG's on my paj and now got the Cooper STT's - think the Coopers have got the edge - well worth the money, good on road and agressive enough off road for laning and sites - if it's a pure mud machine you want then they (or the BFG's) won't do the job

Got them fitted today. Went for a run into Glasgow and was impressed at the lack of road noise. The stearing does feel a tad lighter now and a wee bit wavery but that could be the pressures. The garage that put them on dont really deal with defenders and the look on his face when I gave it in to him was a study. I will check in the morn and hope all is well.

I got 235/85/16's . I beleive they are still doing the 30 day thing but there was not any mention of it in the advert I got mine from however the 30 day is from Cooper not the seller so I suppose if I had any issues I could chase through Cooper. Rab you can pull me out anytime but I need to get stuck first!!!
