EGR VALVE

i have a blanking plate for the egr valve and not to sure as where it goes do i just take the piece off that goes to the air inlet or do i take the whole valve off and put the blank on the manifold has anyone got any photos

You should blank it off on the exhaust manifold.  Remove all the unwanted pipework.  I also replaced the EGR valve with this:

not touched the disco yet, but i found a 2p piece fit nicely in the oriface where the two pipes meet, removed the vac hose (and blocked off)... hey presto!

I put mine on the joint with the top air hose, it's the easiest to undo without snapping anything and it really doesn't matter where you fit it as long as you fit it :D

Thats where I fitted mine. Took 5 mins. Didnt notice any change at first but after a couple of hundred miles, greatly reduced smoke and slightly more power.  5 quid from fleabay, no regrets.

I took off all the EGR valve pipe work and also the top intercooler hose and fitted a 300tdi defender top intercooler hose and bolted the plate to the exhause manifold where the EGR vale used to sit in.
Moved over to the dark side - Suzuki's !

done it today took the whole valve off and put the blank over the hole made a lot of difference to the performance
