Tractor Pulling Accident - 26-08-07
« on: September 01, 2007, 13:19:54 »
I was going to go to the tractor pulling last Sunday at Gt. Eccleston (nr. Blackpool) but I ended up busy, I saw a lad in the pub who had been and said a bloke on one of the tractors had beek killed after the trailer ended up on top of the tractor    The bloke was from Holland and was part of 'team popeye', someone has posted their mobile phone video on you tube of the accident, it's frightening how fast the tractor got up to as the weight didn't  move up the trailer as it should have done which meant when the tractor knocked the power off the trailer kept going tipping the tractor and trapping the driver, the trailer had around 25 tonne of weight on it!!

It has been in the papers a bit but I haven't heard much since, this could put stops on the sport for a while, I feel sorry for the bloke's family as they saw it happen!

Did anyone on here go?

Our local paper are pressuring You Tube to try and get it taken off, luckily it doesn't show much detail as it's been done with a phone, must be upsetting for the family though to know someone has posted a video of it :x

I too was hell bent on going as have missed the last couple but am rather glad circumstances were taken out of my control. I read it in the paper on Tuesday. Must have been horrendous for the guy's wife and kids that saw the whole thing.

I remember watching tractor pulling on tell when I was in my teens, think it used to be on eurosport :?  To be honest I thought it had died of death as i've never seen it on tv or any adds for it. My dad's never really been into cars but I even got him watching it
I don't suffer insaity ! I enjoy it !!!
