Topic: Police not interested in an uninsured/unlicensed driver (Read 1722 times)

Just been talking to a friend, and I can't believe what she has told me.

She (lets call her Sue) knows of a woman who has never passed her test, but drives on a daily basis with her children in the car, which must also mean she is uninsured.

Sue decided to do the right thing and tell the police.

Nothing happened, and the other woman continues to drive her car.

Sue chased the police up, to see when and how they were going to deal with it (Sue had already told them times and dates of where the woman will be driving and details of her car, so all they had to do was to be there).

Guess what, they are not going to do anything about it! Why? Because "they don't have the resources to deal with it" or doesn't Sue know that "there are drunk drivers out there who are higher priority". They even suggested that Sue was lying about her just to cause her hassle from the Police!

If anyone out there knows a way to get the police to actually do something about this, before this woman kills someone, please let me know!

Tell them that she is drunk as well? She doesnt necessarily have to be when they catch her or anything.

But why does she have to lie about it for the police to take notice? And how can Sue say the other woman "will be drunk at 8:30am every morning while taking the children to school"?

i've lost faith in the police a little since our 15 year old run away for 3 nights and days, after he'd come back about a week later i complained to the police i got told get this one he wasn't at risk - as they had took one of his 15 year olds friends word that he was at somebody's house - they hadn't spoke to my son or seen him ??????????

Apparently we no longer have a 'police force' any more but a 'police service',i'm sure both public and the police would prefer a 'force'.

Had a traffic car on the inside of me tonight, I was about to pass when someone came up behind me and forced her way out almost taking the traffic car and me out.

Didnt even bat an eyelid.

My advice is if you are not getting the reply a letter to the Chief Constable usually gets things moving along...

Either I'm getting older or the coppers are getting younger :shock: There's one on our local patch looks about twelve. No wonder the kids run riot with guns and knives nowadays.

The problem is; the police can arrest people quite easily, it's writing down why and how they did it to satisfy the courts that's the problem, so the can't be bothered attitude sets in

In my opinion we should boot some of these nanny-state, do-good judges out and let joe public decide what should be done with louts, kiddy-fiddler, etc

or even get the public to vote by phone or txt

phone the police , tell em you are so sick of this uninsured driver you have got hold of a shotgun and are lying in wait.. if they dont stop her at such n such a time you will shoot her

Beleive me it works n they will be there in force... even if you are nowhere near

It's like the old one one about the bloke who hears someone break into his shed. He calls the police, telling them that if they're quick, they'll catch the guy red handed. "I'm sorry sir, but we have noone available at the moment, but we'll have someone with you as soon as possible.". A few minutes pass, and the guy rings the police back. "Just letting you know there's no rush sending a patrol round, I've shot the bloke.".

Within minutes 4 cars pull up outside, dog teams have surrounded the house and a helicopter is circling overhead. The burglar is arrested, with no signs of any wounds. The sergeant says to the home-owner, "I thought you said you'd shot him?", to which he replies "I thought you said no-one was available?".

Am I right in thinking you live in North Wales? If so, I'm very surprised that this hasn't been jumped on, considering that the Chief for you area is Richard Brunstrum, who has the reputation of a real hatchet man in relation to motoring offences! :shock:
I would suggest that you put another call in, saying that you have called before, ask for an incident number, then if there is no joy after a week, then call up and ask to speak to the Area Commander and ask that you be informed of the result.
With all the links to DVLA, they shouldbe able to check straight away if she is licencsed and insured.

we knew a woman who had been driving for 40 years without a licence,
she only got caught because she had her first ever accident after 40 years of diving.

See my post earlier. Id like to say they have other things on their plates but I've never had any luck with the Hants lot. I could cite so many incidents including my security gurad being stabbed where they failed to show. No offence to LSP but the Hants lot do seem to be a useless shower.

Same thing applies JB. Get her to phone up, and get numbers and if all else fails, ask to be put through to the Profesional Standards (Complaints) dept.
